From the moment Disney announced that they would be launching their own streaming service, a chorus of Muppet fan voices shouted out: “They should make Bear in the Big Blue House available to stream! Disney owns it, and it’s a really good show!”

It took them a while, but it’s finally happening! As announced by Disney and reported in many places today, Bear and his friends will be making their way to Disney+ on October 19. Tutter, Ojo, Pip, Pop, Treelo, Luna, Shadow — the whole gang! Right there on our streaming devices! It’s great news, because Bear in the Big Blue House is one of the most pleasant and entertaining Jim Henson Company series ever, and this will allow the show to be discovered by a new generation of kids — and rediscovered by an old generation of kids. Get ready for a LOT of social media posts about how much people are crying because Bear told them they smell good.

Mark your calendars and get ready to say howdy to the big bear!
