The 2010 Daytime Emmy Award nominees have been announced! And it should be no surprise that the Muppet-related programs have once again completely overshadowed any other program. Seriously, if Sesame Street could be eligible for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, they’d beat the pants off of Susan Lucci.
Check out all the nominations (that we care about):

-Outstanding Children’s Animated Program
-Outstanding Special Class Animated Program (“Getting a Shot: You Can Do It!”)

-Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control
-Outstanding Writing in a Children’s Series
By far the most exciting bit of news isn’t the above nine nominations for Sesame Street or the nineteen total nominations for Sesame, Electric Company, and Sid the Science Kid, but the “Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series” category, in which all five nominees are Sesame Street performers! And the nominees are:
Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series
-Kevin Clash as Elmo
-Caroll Spinney as Big Bird
-Chris Knowings as Chris Robinson
-Joey Mazzarino as Stinky, Murray, and Blogg
-David Rudman as Baby Bear
Amazing! I hope they all get little golden statues! We all know they deserve it. Many congrats go to the actors, puppeteers, writers, producers, and crews of Sid the Science Kid, The Electric Company, and Sesame Street for their nominations!
The 37th annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on June 27 on the CBS network.
