As the athletes of the world come together in Paris, France for the 2024 Summer Olympics, they’ll be joined by some gold medal entertainment. NBC has announced that the gang from Sesame Street will be heading to Paris for their coverage of the games, which take place July 26 – August 11, 2024.

Cookie Monster joined the crew of Today to break the big news, and try some traditional French macarons. (I bet you can’t guess what those are.) He also revealed that Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Tango will be taking part in the coverage. Meanwhile, artwork promoting the collaboration posted by Sesame Workshop also shows Grover and Slimey. Sports fans may remember that Slimey has competed in both the Worm Summer and Winter Games. Previously, the Sesame crew traveled to London for the Olympics in 2012, and recorded videos with members of Team USA to promote the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyongchang, South Korea. The Olympics are usually a global spectacle, and it’s great to know that some beloved characters will be there to take in the action.
