ToughPigs Art: Dave Alvarez’s Muppetober

Artist Dave Alvarez has been on our radar for almost a decade.  Even as we saw his work on the old Muppet Show comic books, we knew he was a force to be reckoned with.  His style is expressive and unique, channeling something akin to Looney Tunes, but retaining the all-important Muppet essence.  But mostly, it’s just fun.

This October, Alvarez issued a challenge to himself: Draw a Muppet a day.  He dubbed it “Muppetober“, and the results are incredible.  Alvarez’s choices are mostly from the Muppet Show family, but a few select characters from Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and even Bear in the Big Blue House make appearances.

Check out Dave Alvarez’s Muppetober illustrations below, and then be sure to follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook!
