fest2010 update

UPDATE: We have confirmed our location! The Muppet Vault will be held at The Knitting Factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. See below for more details.

About a year ago, we tried our hand at organizing our own Muppet fan get-together. We amassed a group of faithful readers and had some fun in the sun on New York City’s Governors Island. The event was a bit of a success, and it was apparent that our next foray into the art of assembly should up the ante in more ways than one. So when we got a call from The MuppetCast‘s Steve Swanson letting us know that he’d be coming to town, we retrofitted our thinking caps and started planning an event for ToughPigs readers, MuppetCast listeners, and Muppet fans everywhere.

The event, which we’re calling “The Muppet Vault“, will take place on Sunday, July 25, at 2:00 pm at The Knitting Factory, which is located at 361 Metropolitan Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (easily accessible from the L and G trains). Tickets are only $5, with special Muppety drink specials. (Don’t let the drink specials keep you from bringing the young’uns, The Muppet Vault is for Muppet fans of all ages!)

So that covers the when and where, but what about the what? The main event will include a screening of Muppet rarities, including specials, episodes, commercials and more that aren’t readily available on DVD (hence the “Vault” name… get it???). There will also be copious amounts of music, trivia, prizes, a sing-along, shootings (no wait… no shootings), and more! And best of all, you’ll get to rub elbows with Joe, Ryan, and Steve! (That is the best part, right?) It’s more Muppet fun than you can shake a Doozer stick at!

So get July 25th marked on your calendar (in pen, please) and feel free to e-mail us if you have any questions. See you soon, Muppet fans!
