Sam and Friends! That wonderful, loveable show! Full of so many amazing moments! Fantastic characters! And so so many other things! That we all love! Yes!
Like, that chameleon? Wait, sorry, lizard? I totally meant lizard… or is it a frog? No, no, I definitely meant lizard. Anyway, you know the one. With the wig! And the singing! And the thinking! Oh yes, so delightful! I could watch that fro- lizard for hours! Always cracks me up, even just thinking about… her? … him? … you know, gender’s not real, so forget it. Moving on!
You know who else I really love? The Hipster one. Yes, so cool! The coolest, you might say. With his glasses and his beatnik-ness! So much beatnik!
And then there’s the… tiny purple skull? Head? Face? Named Osric? Err, Polonius? Right, well, I love the way he just exists, y’know? He’s just, like, there, and that’s great. Such a top notch character. Totally!
Oh! And who could forget Sam! The way he just Sam’s it up! Every time!
And then of course there’s… there’s… there’s…
Ugh, okay, fine, you all caught me. The jig is up! I must confess: I’ve never seen an episode of Sam and Friends in my entire life.
You can’t blame me though. After all, I live on the west coast. We don’t exactly get local Washington DC television out here in Portland friggen Oregon. All we have to watch out here are big ol’ doug fir trees. Do you know how boring it is to just stare at trees all day? I sure do!
What I would give to get to see this Sam and Friends show my east coast pals are all talking about. Whenever I catch up with Joe or Ryan on my rotary phone, they fill me in on everything that’s happened in the latest segment. And I’ll admit, none of it makes a lick of sense to me, but it sounds so fun and wacky and wonderful! I’d give my left arm to see what this James Hanson guy they’re always raving so much about is getting up to.
Well, maybe some day there will be a way for me to finally see what this Sam and Friends show is all about. Maybe someone will create a little electronic box that allows you to tube clips from shows through it.
A girl can only visualize, I guess.
