First they came for Muppet*Vision 3D. Then they took away Kermit’s hot air balloon. And then the water for Piggy’s fountain. And then nobody ate at Rizzo’s pizzeria. Disney seems to be removing the Muppet Courtyard at Walt Disney World piece-by-piece.
In their latest move, we seem to be losing the rest of Piggy’s fountain, the Muppet-themed gift shop, and Gonzo’s plumbing paradise bathroom. All that’s left are a few completely out-of-date parody posters. But thankfully, we’re not losing those! They will be adorning the new and exciting Muppet Alleyway!
The Muppet Alleyway, tucked between Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train and something Star Wars-related that’s still under construction, will be your one-stop-shop for all things Muppet at and of the Disney theme parks. And we’re so excited about this, because if we’re not, Disney might take it away too, and this is all we have.
So the next time you’re in Orlando, be sure to enjoy two bites of your churro as you sidle past the Muppet Alleyway. But make sure you only look to the left, as the right side is decorated with posters from Zootopia.
