I can’t tell you who my sources are for this story, but you’re just going to have to take my word for it that they are people who are closely involved in maintaining a Muppet fan website. These sources have shared with me some very interesting information: Muppet fan websites are desperate for content.
Apparently, it’s easier to keep coming up with material to post when the Muppets are active than it is when they are not active. In other words, it is more challenging to keep coming up with material to post when the Muppets are not active than it is when the Muppets are active. In other words, the more Muppet activity there is, the easier it is to come up with material to post, and the less Muppet activity there is, the more challenging it is to come up with material to post.
Rumor has it that sometimes the Muppet fan sites are so desperate for something to say that they consider posting articles that simply rephrase the same statement multiple times. My sources did not confirm this rumor, as they were too busy reloading the Muppets’ Facebook page.
One nice thing, according to these sources, is that there are many older, existing Muppet productions to talk about. However, once a fan site covers an old production, it can be tricky to cover the same production again without being… repetitious? Or is that “repetitive?” My sources have never been sure about that. They do note, though, that they are relieved that there are five whole seasons of The Muppet Show to review, so it should be a while before they have to resort to reviewing Family Rules.
More on this story as it continues to not develop.
