Whatnot Kits Spotted at Toys R Us

One of my favorite Muppet merchandise things ever was the Muppet Workshop Puppet ‘n’ Parts kits that came out in 1993.  I don’t think they sold especially well, but I loved owning my own blank-slate Muppet and changing his facial features around to create different characters.  More recently, the FAO Schwarz Muppet Whatnot Workshop has been hugely popular for people who want to customize their own professional-looking Muppet, or to make a Muppet that looks like their brother and give it to him for his birthday.

Now it looks like there’s a new product that combines the look and branding of the FAO Schwarz Whatnots with the flexibility (and less-than-$100 price point!) of the Puppet ‘n’ Parts kits.  Our pals at the Muppet Mindset found these on the shelf at a Toys-R-Us store:

There doesn’t seem to be any info on the FAO Schwarz or Toys R Us websites about them yet, but the photo indicates that they cost $59.99.  I know what I’m asking for this Christmas!
