Listen to Barbra Streisand’s Duet with Kermit

In Barbra Streisand’s latest album of unreleased songs, she uncovered her rendition of Paul Williams and Kennny Ascher’s “Rainbow Connection”, recorded soon after The Muppet Movie hit theaters for the first time. It’s a shame that she never worked with the Muppets, and that she didn’t get a chance to record this with Jim Henson at the peaks of both of their careers. But apparently it’s never too late!

You can listen to Streisand’s cover of “Rainbow Connection”, complete with Jim Henson’s original vocals as Kermit the Frog right here! Although Kermit does sound a bit robotic at a few points, thanks to the magic of autotune, it’s a great example of what can be accomplished without the need of a time machine.

Barbra Streisand’s “Rainbow Connection” can be found on her new album, Release Me 2, now available.
