Street Gang Goes to Sundance

As you may recall, a documentary based on Michael Davis’ book Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street has been in production since 2016. We’ve been eagerly awaiting for Macrocosm Entertainment’s finished product and soon, we will no longer need wonder about the secret origins of Ernie’s sweater or Oscar’s eyebrows.

Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street will make its premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Due to the pandemic, the festival will be online this year and the films will stream live. You folks at home have a chance to see the premiere of the documentary before it debuts on HBO later this year (the exact date has yet to be announced).

Tickets are availible for purchase now at Sundance.org. If you wish to see only the Street Gang film, you can purchase a single-film ticket (for $15) for one of the film’s two screening times – January 30th at 12:00pm EST or February 1st at 10:00am EST. Tickets are on a first-come/first-serve basis and there is a limited number of each, so we recommend getting yours as soon as you can. We also must point out that tickets are for U.S. residents only, so our apologizes to all you die-hard Sesame fans in Greenland.
