Sesame Street‘s long, valued history with music is being celebrated by New York City’s most famous jazz institution.

Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC will host A Swingin’ Sesame Street Celebration this October!  The concert will feature Elmo, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, and the rest of the gang along with jazz trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis.

The show will include jazz renditions of several Sesame Street classics, such as “Sing,” “People in Your Neighborhood,” “Rubber Duckie,” and (of course) “Sunny Days”.

Marsalis made several appearances on Sesame Street over the years, so he knows the Muppets pretty well.  Here’s one of those appearances:

The show will take place on October 25th at 7pm, and October 26th at 2pm and 7pm.
