Sesame Street Comics Coming

Earlier this week, Ape Comics posted a blog update indicating that Sesame Street comic books may be on their way soon.  Lucky for us, this announcement came during the New York Comic Con, which was being attended by your pals at ToughPigs.

We spoke to editor Aaron Sparrow, who told us that Ape Comics is “in negotiations” with Sesame Workshop to bring the Sesame characters to the funnybook world.  As the idea stands, the comics will be in an anthology-type format, with different writers and artists contributing to the books.  Many different characters will be making appearances, including one that Sparrow was particularly proud of: Super Grover (in his classic costume, rather than the 2.0 variety).

The comics will be sold in comic shops as well as the iTunes store.

We’ll announce more Sesame comic news as it gets revealed, so keep an eye on ToughPigs for that!
