Podcast to Decide: Best Muppet Movie? Best Muppet Show Episode?

As Muppet fans, we love talking about which Muppet Thingy or Muppet Doohickey is the best Thingy or Doohickey. Next month, the hosts of the podcast We Got This with Mark & Hal will be answering these questions once and for all: What’s the best of the original Muppet movies? and What’s the best episode of The Muppet Show?

You probably have opinions on these questions. Fortunately, you don’t just have to sit there and holler at your screen. You can vote in a survey to help them narrow down the Muppet Show episodes they’ll be choosing from! Of course, you’re free to holler at your screen while you place your votes.
The survey can be found at Muppets.WeGotThisPodcast.com where you can pick your five favorite episodes. Go vote now!

But that’s not all! We Got This will be taping their Muppet episodes in front of a live audience at the Museum of the Moving Image, so you can be part of the episodes (assuming you’re alive)! Both shows will be taped Monday, October 9th — that’s Columbus Day.

In the first episode, podcast hosts Hal Lublin and Mark Gagliardi will pick the best Muppet Show episode, joined by their guests Craig Shemin (Jim Henson Legacy president and longtime writer of Muppet stuff) and John Hodgman (actor, author, the PC from those old Apple commercials). Once they’ve chosen the winning episode, that episode will be screened for the audience.

For the second show (which will require a second ticket if you’re planning on going to both), Lublin and Gagliardi will debate which of the Jim Henson-era Muppet movies is the best: The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, or The Muppets Take Manhattan? For that episode, they’ll be joined by Muppet performer Stephanie D’Abruzzo. And then, once they’ve settled on a movie, that movie will be screened for the audience.

We Got This is an entertaining, nerd-friendly podcast, and the press release for the event promises a “combination of fun trivia and hilarious side tangents.” Sounds like a pretty good way to spend Columbus Day!
