When Muppeteer Jerry Nelson passed away a few months ago, we knew we wanted to give him a proper homage. We dedicated a full week of articles to him, revisiting as much as his work from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and more. But we still wanted to do even more than that, which is why we’re building an entire Muppet Vault just for Jerry.
Join us on Sunday, November 18 at 2:00pm in Brooklyn, NY for Muppet Vault: Jerry Nelson – The Man of a Thousand Muppets! We’ll be showing some of our favorite Muppet, Sesame, and Fraggle scenes, songs, and skits starring the one and only Jerry Nelson. As an added bonus, we’ll also be showing the uncut version of Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas! And start memorizing the lyrics now, because it’ll be a sing-along!
All that plus drink specials, trivia and prizes! Sorry, no prizes for the best singing voice. Because that prize would go to Jerry, obviously.
Join us at Union Hall, located at 702 Union Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. The venue is near the 2,3,4,D,N, and R trains. So many options! Union Hall has a fully-stocked bar, food options, a fireplace, a library, and two bocce ball courts. If you can’t find it, just try a random Fraggle hole and see where it leads.
Don’t let the bar atmosphere fool you, the Muppet Vault is all-ages! So bring your kids, bring your parents, bring your grandparents, and maybe bring a poncho to keep you dry if The Count gets into a thunder-filled counting fit.
