ToughPigs Takes Cleveland: Magic of the Muppets

UPDATE: See below for info about a screening of The Great Muppet Caper, which will include a talkback with ToughPigs’ own Joe!

We at ToughPigs recognize that Muppet fans in New York and Los Angeles have a huge benefit over the rest of the world, as those are the cities where everything happens.  Hollywood Bowls, Carnegie Halls, museums, live appearances, red carpets, and so on.  This is why we’re bringing a little bit of Muppet love to the Midwest.

On April 22 and April 23, ToughPigs’ Editor-in-Chief Joe Hennes (that’s me!) has been invited to present a Master Class about Jim Henson and the Muppets in Cleveland, Ohio!  I’ll be giving a talk about the history of the Muppets, along with a deep dive into what makes them so great and why everyone still loves them today.

The event will take place at Nighttown, a restaurant and jazz club, located at 12383 Cedar Road in Cleveland Heights.  Tickets will be $10 for the Sunday matinee and $15 for Monday evening.

Personally, I’m very excited to be bringing my Muppet love and knowhow back to my hometown.  I hope that if you’re anywhere near the Northeast Ohio region, you’ll join us and share your love too.

UPDATE: By total coincidence, the Cedar Lee movie theater (just a 5-minute drive from Nighttown) will be screening The Great Muppet Caper on Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd as a part of their Family Film Series. The best part? Tickets are only $1!  The second best part? The Saturday screening will feature an introduction and talkback with ToughPigs’ own Joe Hennes!  I’ll be providing some fun facts, answering questions, and giving out coupons for free Shirley Temples to anyone who comes to the Master Class event.

Hope to see you there!
