You may not recognize the name Mark Elliott. You almost definitely don’t recognize his face. But I’d bet dollars to donuts that you’ve heard his voice a thousand times over.
Voice over actor Mark Elliott is abundantly famous for his narration for Disney advertisements, providing the fun and friendly voice-overs for trailers and commercials from 1983 to 2008. Sadly, we have learned that Mark Elliott passed away this week.
In addition to the slew of trailers that spotlight Elliott’s voice – including almost every Disney VHS and DVD you owned, which featured Elliott saying, “And now, our feature presentation” – Elliott can be heard narrating several Muppet-related trailers.
Just a few examples can be heard below. As I’m sure you’ll realize, Elliott’s voice will be instantly recognized, and is likely an unknown staple from your childhood.
What an amazing and unique career Mark Elliott had! And we’re so grateful to include him among the talents who helped influence the Muppet franchise.
