Muppets are Money, Kermit is Currency

So, here’s a weird one.

If you live in New Zealand, you can get Kermit the Frog on a coin.

That’s it.  That’s the whole news story.

The coin, which replaces the visage of Queen Elizabeth II with that of the world’s most famous frog, is a legal tender $2 coin.  Of course, that $2 coin will cost you $85 to purchase, so you do the math.

If you’re interested in getting one of these puppies, visit the New Zealand Mint website.
