Help Kickstart the Jim Henson Museum Exhibition

Here at Tough Pigs, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of the permanent Jim Henson exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York.  Every time we go to a screening at the museum, we stare at the “COMING SOON” wall, wishing we had X-ray vision.  We can’t wait to see what kind of treasures are forthcoming.  When will it open?  WHEN?!

Well, it turns out museum exhibitions are really expensive, and MoMI needs a little more dough to make sure all those puppets and artifacts are ready to greet the world.  And starting today, you and I, and every Muppet fan from here to Kalamazoo can help them cross the finish line.

You can do it by clicking here, to visit the museum’s just-launched Kickstarter.  They have a $40,000 goal, and an array of rewards for pledges ranging from $5 to $10,000.  You can make a pledge somewhere between those two amounts, right?  And those rewards are pretty nifty… Limited-edition chocolate bars (you can eat those!)… autographed copies of The Muppets Character Encyclopedia (you can’t eat those)… autographed photos of Dave Goelz characters… curator-led tours of the exhibition.  Good stuff!

Also, be sure and watch the video on the Kickstarter page, which includes testimonials from fans including Tough Pigs contributor Matthew Soberman, and Neil Patrick Harris, who is pretty cool even though he’s never written anything for Tough Pigs.

Stay tuned to this here website for more details on the Jim Henson exhibition!
