We’re saddened to learn that singer, actor, and activist Helen Reddy has passed away.

Reddy is best known for her hit song, “I am Woman” (which happened to be spoofed on Sesame Street as “I am Chicken“), as well as her role in the classic Disney film Pete’s Dragon. Of course, she also has a strong connection with the Muppet world.

Most notably, Helen Reddy appeared in a season 3 episode of The Muppet Show, in which she sang with the Electric Mayhem, serenaded Kermit the Frog, and danced with a camel. Revisit those memorable moments here:

In addition to her Muppet Show episode, she also made several appearances on Sesame Street.

As you can see, Reddy brought all of her charm and talent to the Muppets, and we’re grateful to include her among the impressive and influential celebrities to have played in that Henson sandbox.
