This year we’ll be giving thanks as the cast of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock joins the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Uncle Traveling Matt will be back in Outer Space to investigate what Thanksgiving is, what a parade is, and probably why tryptophan makes us so sleepy after a turkey dinner. Apple TV+ and Macy’s will be releasing a series of videos on social media starring Matt as he gets us hyped for the holiday.
Keen-eyed Muppet fans may remember that this isn’t the first time the Fraggles have appeared in the Macy’s parade! Back in 1983 and 1984, the parade featured a float depicting the Rock with the Fraggles singing the show’s theme song. In the latter year, the float also featured a giant Junior Gorg, ready to thwomp any Fraggle he sees (unless they were bringing candied yams or green beans to his pot luck).
The Fraggles will be joining the cast of Sesame Street, who will also appear in this year’s Macy’s parade.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on NBC and Peacock on Thursday, November 24th from 9am until noon. Keep an eye out for the Fraggles!
