Ladies and gentlemen, frogs and pigs: We've got ourselves a new contest.
Of all the things I've posted on Tough Pigs so far, the one thing that people ask me about the most is when are the Pepe dolls coming out. But the other thing that people ask about the most is the Ugly Fozzie Collection. People have told me about Ugly Piggys, and Ugly Gonzos, and Ugly Fraggles. So, I figure, let's make it a contest, and get it all out in the open.
So I'm announcing the start of the Ugly Muppet Toy Contest. Here's how it works.
If you have a picture of an Ugly Muppet Toy, e-mail it to me at Danny@ToughPigs.com. I'll accept entries between now and March 31st, divide them into categories, and then post the best ones on April Fools Day.
Then those will be the nominees, competing in their categories, and I'll take votes for which is the ugliest toy in each category. Then sometime around April 15th I'll announce the winners, and crown the Ugliest Muppet Toy Ever.
Now, a contest isn't any fun without lots of rules, so here's some rules.
1. Entries can be any Muppet toy from any show or movie.
2. The toys can be either real licensed toys or knock-offs, as long as they're ugly.
3. The Ugly Toys have to be Ugly by birth, not Ugly by circumstance. In other words, I don't want this to be an Abused Toy contest. It has to be Ugly right from the store.
4. You don't have to own the toy yourself, as long as you can send a decent digital photo of it. Enter as many times as you like. Knock yourself out.
The winning toys will be locked away in a lead-shielded room. The people who send in the winning photos will be eligible for fabulous, entirely imaginary prizes.
I think it'll be fun. So, who's got some ugly toys?
